Boston, Mass.—September 18, 2018—Health Dialog announced today that its Nurse Line has received certification from the National Committee for Quality Assurance for Health Information Product (HIP): Health Information Line. Health Dialog’s Nurse Line provides live, 24/7 access for patients to a registered nurse. The NCQA HIP certification process is a voluntary review process governed by NCQA’s rigorous Standards for Certification, developed with the assistance of representatives from industry as well as input from health plans. Health Dialog’s Nurse Line has been NCQA-certified since 2008.
“Earning NCQA’s HIP Certification demonstrates that an organization has expertise in gathering and disseminating health care information for health plan members,” said Lisa Slattery, Vice President, Accreditation and Recognition Operations.
Using Health Dialog’s Nurse Line, patients can speak live with highly trained health coaches and registered nurses (RNs) when they need it. Health Line RNs are licensed in all 50 states and D.C. and have an average of 13 years of experience. The Nurse Line never uses a call-back system and patients can access services through secure messaging or web chat. Nurse Line staff have deep expertise in educating and engaging diverse populations. Spanish-speaking patients can speak directly with health coaches in their native language while live interpretation services are available for more than 200 languages.
NCQA certification includes rigorous evaluations conducted by a team of health care professionals. A national oversight committee of physicians analyzes the team’s finding and determines certification based on the HIP organization’s compliance with NCQA standards.
“No form of health support is more effective or meaningful to people in a time of need than direct contact with a trained professional,” said Dr. Peter Goldbach, chief medical officer for Health Dialog. “For more than 20 years, our highly trained registered nurses and health coaches have been available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer patient calls. In addition to our high levels of training, we voluntarily seek NCQA certification to validate the quality of our Nurse Line. Our commitment to ensuring quality is fundamental to our mission of helping individuals achieve and maintain better health.”
